Daily Routine

Daily Routine
Rashelle Torres-Mendoza, '24

Oh my daily routine, how my days used to be dragged out the door by 7
At school by 7:45
Greetings towards Maddie
And a stink eye from her backpack, Nike

15 minutes later
Placed on a locker’s hook,
Only getting air about 9 times a day for her
To grab her books

Every morning seeing wonderful people and so called teachers
but this was how my life used to be before this
awful quarantine.

Now I’m on a hook staring out into the sun
Just hanging there with no one to listen
When the moon comes out I still wonder
When will I get to my old
Daily routine
