Ten Years Old
Hannah Moore, '16

I’ve known since we were ten years old.
Since the days where I did nothing but cry,
You’d just take me in your gentle hold.

I knew I could look into your eyes of gold,
and never have to fake it or try.
I’ve known since we were ten years old.

I never had to fit in a certain mold,
Not show-off to you like with another guy,
You’d just take me in your gentle hold.

We never did exactly what we were told.
Always questioning directions, always asking why.
I’ve known since we were ten years old.

With you I’d never face the harsh winter cold,
Sit in your warmth and watch the storm go by.
You’d just take me in your gentle hold.

You made me special, made me bold.
Never held me down but encouraged me to fly.
I’ve known since we were ten years old,
You’d just take me in your gentle hold.
